Eurovision Data Visualizations

Mapping decades of Eurovision history

An interactive collection of maps and charts that visualizes how Eurovision has evolved, from the growth in participating countries to the shifting geography of host cities over time. Each piece is designed to turn raw data into a clear, engaging story about how the contest has expanded across Europe and beyond.

Exploring performance, points and patterns

Using Flourish and Mapbox, these visualizations reveal trends in winners, voting behavior and staging order, highlighting which countries dominate the scoreboard and when performances tend to score highest. Dynamic views, such as the bubble map of host cities, invite the user to explore Eurovision’s most significant milestones in an intuitive, visual way.

From static charts to immersive storytelling

Starting from simple bar and area charts, the project evolves into interactive experiences that combine timelines, scatterplots and custom maps to uncover hidden relationships in the data. The result is a cohesive visual narrative where every graphic contributes a different perspective on how Eurovision’s politics, geography and music have changed through the years.
